My mother (b. 1945) says she can't remember anyone at her school worrying about their weight. And the British haven't been short of food for a long time.
We have slowly lost something valuable, that used to be almost universal, over the last couple of generations. And we haven't really noticed up till now.
But I think people are starting to notice. And there seem to be some good ideas going around about what the problem might be and how to fix it.
Asking the right question is often the hard bit. So you might find that in a few years everyone starts working like that again.
I believe many people would kill to have a body that worked like that.
