94kg! I'll collect my prize money on the next full moon when you people gather at Stonehenge or whatever it is you do in the Old Country. Silver coins would be phenomenal.
Didn't know you read PG, I suppose nerd minds think alike ;) He's of course BIG in the startup/developer community. I agree on the writing. It forces you to clarify your thoughts. So does discussion and debate!
Congrats, sounds like you really found something that works. If you do this longer term, I'd advise you to be conscious of protein intake. ex150 is VERY VERY low in protein, on purpose. That might not be sustainable, e.g. I do protein refeeds every 30 days (between experiments). If you're doing this long term, just make sure you're playing around with the protein, it might still work with a much higher (=adequate) dose.
The common equation is 1g/protein per lb of lean body weight. I have 150lbs of lean body weight at 6'1 and I don't exercise much, so you can go off of that and adjust for height/exercise status.
That was last week. No lunar festivals now until Catholic-Burning! Or maybe Witch-Fearing Night comes first. I never can remember. How accursèd do you take your silver?
For no reason at all, my weight has bounced back up to 95.6 over the last couple of days, and I'm still doing ex150ish and I don't think I've done anything differently. Certainly no obvious accidental re-carbing.
I'll probably can it tomorrow (parties to attend), at which point I'll be interested to see where everything stabilizes. But I'd be surprised if my weight settled back up over 98, certainly.
I'm now pretty sure this works as a weight loss technique, although I still want to see how the rebound goes, but I've got no intention of doing it long-term! It seems too unnatural to be sensible as a lifestyle, however great it feels. And I am starting to get carb-fantasies, which is probably a bad sign.
What I want to work out now is if there's any sane change that will get the energy benefits ( I am so bouncy these last few days.... ) I think I might try my normal heart-attack diet, put back in the fruit and yoghurt, but avoid major carbs like pizza and pasta and potatoes and bread and see what happens. No cheese-on-toast... I am already pining for it.
And of course, this is all probably *sui generis* and not particularly anything anyone else is going to be interested in, but I'll keep writing. I've seen a lot of weirdness recently and I need to stop and think.
Thank you so much for all your work, and your comments here, and I hope your trial works out well! I look forward to your write up. I read your blog avidly and it's always interesting and well-written.
The weight gain could just be sun/exertion. I often gain a few pounds from even a light sunburn, or being in the heat all day. Seems like my body likes to over-retain water on those days, and it takes a while to come back off.
I had carb fantasies the first 1-2 years on keto, but eventually they went away. I think that's trained, just like our sense of taste. After 7 years of keto I ate carbs for 2 weeks, and they were pretty meh. I thought "This is what I've been avoiding? Lol, don't even care for it! That's not a sacrifice at all!"

Thanks! I like reading your musings, too :)
