On a note, ketosis does have quite a spectrum. If you eat low enough carbs (like it sounds you will) you will almost definitely be "in ketosis" which is commonly defined as >0.5mmol/L ketones. I get to that level even with infinite protein and relatively high (for me) carbs like 50-80g/day. On ex150, I get 2-3mmol/L throughout the day, which I could never get with high protein and that level of carbs. Fasting gives people up to 5-6mmol/L.
So you might very well be in ketosis doing this, but still not lose quite all of the water weight. It's a bit of a sliding scale as long as you stay under X carbs. I was in ketosis for 7 years, and I lost and gained back 100lbs during that time. Ketosis itself doesn't necessarily mean you'll lose weight. It did totally fix my sleep and I felt calmer that entire time, so that part seems to be ketosis, even if the weight loss wasn't always there.
P.S. I watched 'The Lipovore', she makes some fascinating points.
My immediate question is: 'Why then, don't I have the slightest urge to smash bones with a smooth rock and eat the marrow?'. Admittedly I've never tried it. Maybe if I do it will waken some atavistic urge and become my new hobby.
Sorry, slightly higher than my stable weight throughout the pandemic of 93.75kg
Rather higher than my stable adult weight of 85kg
Lower than any measurement I've made since I started worrying about my weight at 97kg last Christmas.
And 93.9 this morning, with a lovely feeling of mental clarity and alertness thrown in too, and not even the ghost of a headache despite several glasses of spirits and bed at 0300 this morning.
I think I'm getting the ex150 effect only slowed down....
Excellent. Some new things I didn't know. Thank you as always!
This would all be a lot easier if there was some sort of wristband you could wear that would give minute by minute readouts of all the chemicals in your blood. I do hope someone is working on such a thing. Scientific discoveries usually come just after the tools to make them are discovered.
At the moment it's like trying to debug a wireless driver when the only debugging info you can get your hands on is 'can it make a wifi connection/has the machine crashed'.
It must be possible. I've got a thingy that clips painlessly on a finger that will tell me how much blood oxygen I've got. I think it works by seeing how much of a certain frequency of light is getting absorbed. Surely that principle can be generalized?
It's very tricky. Even CGMs are regulated to heck here. Basically, if your product could be accidentally misused by a diabetic, it is considered a medical product and needs to be tightly regulated. So all real-time readings of blood markers are out the window except for the handful of big medical device companies that can afford to do it, e.g. Abbott and Dexcom
Land of the free, indeed..... Home of the brave, they say.....
Of course we have a lot of the same shit here, but at least we admit that we're pinko pansies who need our arses spanked by the Nanny State.
What this place needs is a proper war. The Frogs haven't done anything bad for ages, but they still smell of garlic. That's enough casus belli for government work.
Oh wait, they've got nukes. Maybe we could 'bring democracy' to the Netherlands?
Good luck! Take that, willpower ;)

Marrow is absolutely delicious, especially from roasted bone.
Is it now... and ex150 compliant, je suppose...
morning weight measurement (12/08/2023) 94.0kg, lowest ever, and I have the ghost of a headache, so something interesting is going on...
black coffee with keto electrolyte pills and salt in it is really nice!
Ever? Or since... ? I like to draw a straight line from my current weight to the left, and see when it intersects :) Currently at 2017.
