Here’s a variant on my usual graph, with the familiar weight vs time wiggle on the top.
The lower graph is the amount of thyroid I’ve been taking over the same period, and my guess at the amount of exogenously supplied thyroid in my blood, calculated from the number of pills I’ve taken and how the hormones are supposed to behave.
That had been constant for nearly a decade, and any attempt to cut the dose had caused catastrophe.
My best guess was that, although I didn’t know why my metabolism was running slow, forcing it to run faster was keeping me upright. I think I’d have been quite disabled without my daily thyroid dose.
For the last six months that dose has been falling. I’ve been too hot, and I’ve had to keep dropping the dose to keep my temperature normal. That doesn’t seem to have brought back the fatigue or any other hypometabolic symptoms.
I think this means that whatever the underlying metabolic problem I’ve had for all these years is going away.
My best guess as to why that might be happening is that I’m slowly clearing PUFAs out of my fat stores, unclogging my metabolism and allowing everything to work normally again.
I’m not sure about that though. It’s very suspicious that the effect started just before (not just after! just before!) I first tried ex150ish. That would have made it just after I started avoiding all sulphites.
And I don’t see why there was no effect in the first six months of “No PUFAs”.
During last month’s “Mom Test”, the two effects were running strongly in opposite directions. Weight piling back on, thyroid dose dropping like a stone.
It’s now about half what it used to be.
Whatever’s going on, I hope it’s a good sign!

That's how good it is!
