So I didn't get the 1.5kg weight bounce immediately after eating that lasagna, although I did get the recarb-tiredness, but it did happen the day after. I can believe that's just noise obscuring what actually happened.
After that everything was pretty uneventful, looks like weight just went stable at 94kg, despite glycogen reserves probably falling.
As far as I can tell, ex150ish-fruit works just like ex150ish itself, but it would be much easier to stick to long term, it doesn't really feel like doing anything much at all, lots of coffee with cream during the day, lovely tasty stew in the evening and fruit for pudding. No carb cravings despite that it's obviously quite ketogenic, as you can tell from the water-weight spike.
This bout was terminated when a friend suggested going for coffee and ice-cream on Friday night (the 30th). Probably not enough sugar in my ice-cream cone to make a big difference, so I'd be tempted to carry on and see what happens...
But I'm more interested in what happened in the run-up, when apparently just not buying bread and cheese and eating effectively ex150-fruit-and-chips-and-milk seemed to cause my weight to drop off a cliff just like ex150ish itself always does.
So yesterday I got the remaining four potatoes out of the forbidden cupboard and fried up a frying pan of chips (steak fries) in butter. They go really well with stew. And this week I plan to do ex150ish-fruit-and-chips. Off to buy some more potatoes and yams. I will refrain from buying milk, bread, cheese or black puddings.
I think I've already got most of my water-weight back at 94.2kg, so I'm interested to see what happens next.
Let's call it ex150ish-fruit-and-chips. I don't really have any prediction here. I guess I'm expecting that my weight stays pretty much where it is for a week, or maybe even falls. But I wouldn’t be surprised if it went up.
I have made the most excellent discovery, which will ensure the supremacy of German…
Cream and vinegar have always been allowed on ex150ish, and I've found that neither artificial vinegar/chip-shop vinegar/non-brewed condiment, nor distilled white vinegar set off my sulphite problem, and both are pretty good, although neither really compare to beloved Sarson’s of fond yet increasingly distant memory.
Anyway it turns out that if you add vinegar to cream, it turns immediately into really good sour cream. Apparently that's a traditional method, if you need sour cream in a hurry, and it also works on cream that's gone past its sell-by date and has started to thicken, which I'd normally throw away as it's not as nice as fresh cream.
But the real prize is that if you happen to have marinated some mint in vinegar (which I do, I love mint sauce and keep a wine bottle full of chopped mint leaves and vinegar), then if you add that to cream you get something quite amazing. I think it must be the original platonic ideal of tsatsiki, eaten all around the mediterranean, and awesome on kebabs. It might be even better with cucumber.
Anyway this stuff is extremely moreish. At first I thought I'd managed to provoke u/exfatloss style hyperphagia. I ate about twenty carrots dipped in the stuff, and quite a lot just straight out of the pot because peeling carrots takes a few seconds, even if you’re actually standing next to a pile of carrots with the best vegetable peeler science and capitalism can conspire to make, and that was too long to wait.
But suddenly the hyperphagia just stopped, and I found myself doing something else, and didn't feel hungry for the rest of the day.
I've eaten a truly spectacular number of carrots this week. I'm now thinking that this is going to make the absolute best dip for chips. Yum.
That's what I call hyper-palatable food.
P.S. Have been feeling a bit hot and anxious. Reserve the right to drop thyroid dose slightly if it becomes a problem, but not doing it immediately because I’m also getting slight twinges of plantar fasciitis, which is usually a low-thyroid symptom for me. Dithering.
P.P.S. Blood pressure dropped remarkably throughout the two weeks of ex150ish-fruit, both in absolute and pulse-pressure terms. No idea what to read into that….

Well if I didn't know better, I'd presume that somehow the bread & cheese are the parts that make this work?
Curious because it would have to be mediated by 2 different pathways, the 2 have almost nothing in common, which might be the reason they go so well together. That said, maybe it's the bread OR the cheese, if you haven't individually tested cutting those out.
> fruit for pudding
I'm sorry but which meal of the day is "pudding?" Is this like "tea time?" Gosh.
