I began my sixth bout of ex150ish on the 18th, switching to a beef stew and double cream diet, and it's pretty much going exactly as predicted.
Entry into ketosis took maybe three days, there was one day where I was just shatteringly tired for no reason, then after that I got the usual ketosis clarity and energy, accompanied by the "two fuels" feeling where I'm physically fine but my brain stops working, which I put down to shortage of ketones. No headaches at all.
After that I started overheating and getting other symptoms of thyrotoxicity including hypomania and racing heart, It was kind of weird in that at one point I had the excitable energy concurrently with having bits of my brain not working well, I felt quite mad, worried some friends, and got very drunk, luckily without causing any kind of catastrophe.
I've clearly let my thyroid dose get too high, and I've decided that aiming for a waking temperature of 36.7C is too much so I've gone back to aiming for 36.6. I completely stopped taking T4 for a few days, and at one point dropped a dose of NDT as well, and that seems to have put things back to normal and I feel fine, much better than normal in fact.
I think the previous headaches and terrifyingly fast weight loss must have been to do with sulphites in the malt vinegar in the pickled cabbage. To test I put a lot of malt vinegar in a bowl of stew one day and was rewarded with a headache the following morning bad enough to take painkillers which fixed it. No other symptoms. Et tu, Sarson's? My favourite condiment ever... I'm going to have to find some of that fake vinegar that you only get in chip shops that's made of petrol or something and doesn't taste quite right.
Otherwise boringly predictable, weight drop of about 1kg in a week, just like most of the previous goes. Energy and clarity of mind as my normal state. It's like being young again.
I'm starting to wonder why I don't just stay in ketosis rather than only ever doing it for two weeks at a time. I like this feeling.

Hear hear!
