My plan to recarb gently went well, a glass of milk on the 22nd had no bad effects, 3 glasses of milk and some shortbread biscuits on the 23rd, after each one waiting to see what happened, produced no noticeable effects at all, although they did taste great.
The following day I had a pizza, after which I did feel a bit tired, and then for the following couple of days I felt rather sluggish around lunchtime but perked up after a couple of coffees.
Headaches seem to be gone. Not sure whether that's because I'm not in ketosis any more or because I stopped eating the pickled cabbage. I will investigate the question of sulphites in malt vinegar.
My waking temperature's been rather high all week, mostly above the 36.6 that is usually the most I can handle, but there's been no sign of overheating whatsoever. Thyroid dose is stable, I haven't dropped it to compensate for the high temperature since it doesn't seem to be causing any problems, and I always thought 36.6 was a bit lower than it should be, so I'm going to experiment with allowing myself to run a bit hotter than usual. That may be another sign of metabolic recovery, who knows?
Water-weight bounce has been spectacular, both on the way down and on the way up. I've never seen more than a couple of kilos of water-weight effects before, which agrees nicely with the idea that you carry about a kilo and a half of water-bound glycogen reserves, which you lose in ketosis.
But this time, my scale weight went from two consecutive readings of 92.2 on the last days of ketosis up to a high of 96.4 yesterday, rising steadily for five whole days, and it only just seems to be stabilising now.
I can't explain this at all and I wasn't expecting it. I'll wait until I've got enough data to make a seven-day average to draw conclusions, but I am surprised. I figure I lost a bit more than two kilos of genuine weight over two weeks of ex150-5, but the interesting bit will occur over the next couple of weeks.
Mainly I'm eating what I was eating for ex150ish (plenty of stew left), plus bread and milk and potatoes and cheese, all ad-lib. That's because eating out no longer appeals (bloody vegetable oil in everything) and I want to finish off the food I have left over before making anything new.
Wow, that's a crazy water weight spike, nearly 10lbs. Would be high even for me in absence of salad/sour cream hyperphagia lol. But if I look back at your graph, maybe it's just happening faster this time? Although what you describe sounds like it should be slower - 3 day soft just a glass or 2 of milk and some short biscuits?
